Pete has 15 years of experience of working within the ‘Triple Helix’ of industry innovation, academic output and government funding. Driven by a desire to see technology applied for the benefit of businesses, Pete has experience of working across multiple industry sectors including; environmental, automotive, aerospace, and food processing. He specialises in innovation strategy development, training and helping organisations integrate new technology to improve productivity, efficiency, profitability and competitive advantage. Prior to joining OE, Pete worked for the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) to grow their Training and Knowledge Services businesses. With nearly 18 years as a strategic business development professional, he works with universities and corporate clients to build sustainable value propositions and create value from technology.
A knowledge transfer and early stage technology specialist, Pete has personally been responsible for building consortiums of academics and businesses to bid for and win, over £10 million of collaborative and translational research funding from UK and EU governments, giving him deep knowledge of innovation ecosystems and helping businesses unlock . He has a BEng in Chemical and Process Engineering from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and gained an MBA with Distinction from Kingston Business School.
