Oxford Enterprise assisted Nampak with the international commercialisation of their latest innovation – the Infini Bottle.
Nampak are blow moulders, producing 2bn plastic milk bottles every year with a turnover of c.£100m. Nampak are based in South Africa and cover the markets for packaging in Europe and Africa. They developed a new design which saves 15% of the plastic compared to traditional designs. Nampak have patented the invention to protect their core business and also wished to exploit their IP globally for which they approached Oxford University Innovation.
Oxford University Innovation worked with Nampak to test the value proposition in foreign markets and sought to license the IP outside of the UK.
