Devices Enable 24-hour Monitoring of Non-Powered Assets, Increased Asset Utilization and Efficiency, Visible Asset Management, Improved Security, and Minimized Theft/Damage/Loss for up to 3 years

OXFORD, Oxfordshire; – August 2005: OxLoc Ltd – a UK- based supplier of autonomous self-powered asset tracking and monitoring technology today announced the launch of its Asset Alert solution with dual positioning capabilities of GPS and GSM. This unique solution enables customers to choose between either solution depending upon their specific needs and ensures the asset’s position is always available in difficult situations where GPS position may not be possible.

“This is an exciting development for both OxLoc and the market in general” said Keith Dobson, CEO of OxLoc. “For the first time users of self contained battery powered positioning equipment now have the choice of using GPS or GSM positioning or both, in one battery powered Telematics product.”

“This combination allows customers to either use high accuracy GPS as their primary positioning technology with GSM as a backup, or where covert installations are required use GSM positioning and remove the need for a remote and conspicuous external GPS antenna. Both are fully integrated into one unit”.

“OxLoc’s Asset Alert solution has always been an ideal system for use by Logistics and Haulage companies who needed a flexible system able to adapt to their changing business needs. However with dual positioning, plus our recently launched Geo-Fence features, we can now provide a high quality security solution for other markets such as plant and machinery and marine”.

Working with OxLoc, freight, shipping and logistics companies can offer clients first-class quality control procedures that reduce loss from tampering, theft; temperature, humidity or impact damage; and misplaced stock or assets. The secure server/web interface allows the user to manage, track and monitor assets from any global location. OxLoc Oxford Asset Alert products use GPS technology for location information and application-specific sensors for monitoring conditions. Wireless GSM technologies from all major networks are used for data transmission – ensuring the system will operate globally in any area with GSM coverage. There are no costly installation charges and the tracking unit can be re-deployed, minimizing recurring costs and investment in additional units.
