Oxford statisticians assisting with analysis of clinical data for diagnosing acute disease and stress
A company that developed a novel in vitro leucocyte blood test device required the advice of our statisticians on the analysis of several clinical studies on the effectiveness of the device.
The studies included cross-over trials, and data with biological and technical replicates, as well as over a range of patients and controls. These included sepsis patients, COVID-19 patients, and healthy control groups, as well as a study on healthy participants to assess the link between leucocyte readings and stress.
Our statisticians assisted the company with the analysis of the clinical data, including descriptive and multivariable and mixed-effects regression analyses. These results provided insights for the company into the further development of the test device, and are also being used for publication in academic journals.
