Oxford University Innovation, the technology transfer company of the University of Oxford, is expanding its activities in Australasia with the appointment of Helen Ujvary as Australian Representative for the Isis Enterprise consultancy business. Isis assists technology providers, from universities and industry, to commercialise technologies developed over a broad spectrum of ground-breaking technologies.

From a platform in Hong Kong Isis has representatives working on projects in China, Korea, Japan and Malaysia, and has now identified significant opportunities in Australia and the surrounding south ASEAN region for which Isis’ expertise in technology commercialisation and cross-border transfer is ideally suited.

Helen Ujvary joins Isis having previously been responsible for business origination in M&A and corporate partnering in the Australian bioscience sector, as the Australian Representative for New York and London based investment bank Ferghana Partners. Helen holds an MSc in Chemical Engineering from Keble College, Oxford University, having previously studied Biotechnology at Canterbury University. She has an MBA from Adelaide University and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

David Baghurst, Head of Isis Enterprise, Asia, said, “The globalisation of technology industries means that to be truly effective in international technology transfer we need a network of local links in key countries through people sympathetic to local business practices and with strong contact networks. Ground-breaking technologies can emerge in any country where there is investment in the research and development base; the next global technology company could be born in any country with strong technology entrepreneurs. The addition of a new consultant in Australia is a natural extension of our local representative team.”
