Kirsty joined OUI in February 2025. Prior to this, she worked in various roles for the University of Oxford from 2009 as a research management professional.
Most recently she worked in the Nuffield Department of Medicine at the University of Oxford, within the Modernising Medical Microbiology Unit, as a Programme Manager, including managing the unit’s NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre theme, and a collaboration with EIT Pathogena.
Kirsty was the lead adviser (and responsible for day-to-day operations) for the University of Oxford’s submission to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021, covering all academic disciplines.
In previous roles, she was the Hub Manager for the £38m Networked Quantum Information Technologies Hub (NQIT), part of the EPSRC-funded UK Quantum Technologies programme; and managed and negotiated research contracts, grant applications and awards across all scientific disciplines.
