Dr Angela Kukula is Director of Enterprise at the Institute of Cancer Research in London, a position she has held for almost 10 years.
Angela leads the ICR’s Enterprise Unit which is responsible for all of the ICR’s IP transactions and interactions with industry partners, including collaborations with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, clinical trial agreements, patenting, licensing and the formation of spin-out companies.
She is an internationally recognised technology transfer specialist and is the immediate past chair of PraxisAuril, the UK’s professional body for technology transfer, and was the organisations longest serving chair leading the merger between PraxisUnico and Auril to create a unified voice for the sector in the UK.
Prior to joining the ICR, Angela was the inaugural Head of IP and Commercialisation at Aston University responsible for initiating all of the University’s technology transfer activities.
Dr Kukula completed her undergraduate Bachelor degree in Biochemistry at the University of Oxford, and her PhD in Molecular Immunology, Genetics at the Institute of Child Health, University of London. Dr Kukula also has an MBA specialising in Technology Management, and a LLM in Commercial Law.
