Before you begin

If you haven’t met with us yet, please get in touch first so we can arrange a time to discuss your idea.

What information do I need?

Spending a little time preparing now will help us assess your idea quickly and accurately.

Here are some useful prompts to think about before you start:

  • Potential applications – Where could your idea be used, and in what setting?
  • Value and impact – What problem does it solve, and who benefits from it?
  • What’s new – What makes your idea different from what’s already out there?
  • Possible partners – Are there organisations, companies or funders who might be interested?
  • Who was involved – Who contributed to the idea, data, prototypes, funding or background research?

You don’t need to have every answer – we’re here to help you work through the details.

Share your idea

We’ll ask you to complete an Intellectual Property Record form, which is a short form capturing the essential details of your idea.  You can complete the form yourself, or reach out at any stage if you’d like support – we’re here to help.

Once we’ve received and reviewed your form, we’ll be in touch to discuss your idea in more depth, answer any questions, and outline the next steps.
