Metal-metal phosphide/SiO2 hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) catalysts

Image from Licence Details: Metal-metal phosphide/SiO2 hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) catalysts

Applications: Catalysts, Catalyst supports, Petrochemicals, Bio-oils, Biomass

Oxford scientists have developed a novel multifunctional catalysts which act as excellent hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) catalysts.

Features Benefits
  • Novel hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) catalyst.
  • High hydrogenation and deoxygenation activity within the same catalyst.
  • Overcomes very weak deoxygenation associated with standard metal/SiO2 catalysts.
  • Significant improvement over existing/alternative catalysts.
  • Overcomes NiMo and CoMo sulfite hydrodeoxygenation catalyst issues; sulphur contamination and coke accumulation.
  • Higher efficiency than using pure metal phosphide or metal.
  • Reaction can be tailored by metal phosphide type and loading amount.
  • Ability to greatly inhibit transalkylation reactions that give rise to coke accumulation.
  • Greater reaction stability.
