OUI appoints Jaci Barnett as new COO

Oxford University Innovation announces appointment of their new Chief Operating Officer.
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Jaci Barnett as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Oxford University Innovation (OUI). Jaci joins Dr. Mairi Gibbs, CEO, to lead OUI into an exciting new chapter supporting Oxford’s innovation ecosystem.
Jaci assumes the position of COO after three years leading our Consulting Services team at OUI where she has delivered a significant increase in revenue and service level performance.
Prior to OUI, Jaci was the Head of Research Commercialisation and Investment at the University of Bristol. She had previously worked in industry as an engineer, in a contract research organisation, and in senior technology transfer positions at the University of the Witwatersrand and Nelson Mandela University, in South Africa.
Jaci was previously President of the Southern African Research and Innovation Management Association (SARIMA), a member of the Council of the Alliance of Technology Transfer Professionals (ATTP), and the Chair of ATTP’s Course Review Committee from 2013 to 2020.
Jaci is a Registered Technology Transfer Professional and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Bristol, exploring the long-term outcomes of university spinout companies.
