Alana has a background in immunology spanning both medical and veterinary fields. She holds a BSc in Biomedical Science from the University of Hull, an MPhil in Infection and Global Health Medicine, and a PhD in Infection and Immunity from the University of Liverpool.
During her doctoral studies, she completed a Licensing and Ventures internship at Oxford University Innovation (OUI), supporting the Physical Sciences team. She later advanced her expertise in research and innovation as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York.
In 2025, Alana returned to OUI as a Licence & Alliance Manager. In this role, she manages a diverse portfolio of licensing agreements, associated patents, and strategic partnerships.
