Serena has been working in the Oxford tech ecosystem for almost 10 years, having graduated with an MEng from Oxford in 2015. With a background in engineering, product design and sport, she supports academics mostly across the physical sciences including biomedical engineering and physics.
Starting out as an engineer at a biomedical engineering spinout, she then moved to OUI as an Assistant Licensing & Ventures Manager, supporting the whole team across a broad range of projects. Since 2019, Serena has looked after her own portfolio of projects, from engineering to zoology, and also supported OUI’s early social enterprise development. During the pandemic, Serena enjoyed 18 months at Oxford Product Design as project/ opportunities manager, working with spinouts and multinational companies across a broad range of industries and projects. Serena returned to OUI in early 2022 and continues to support biomedical and physical sciences projects, as well as chairing OUI’s mental health champions and being involved with IDEA | EnSpire Oxford.
Outside of work Serena enjoys playing and coaching Ultimate frisbee, climbing and the great outdoors.
