Lou has over 10 years of experience in marketing, comms, and events management. At OUI, she manages OUI’s programme of external events. She also manages the various networks of which OUI is a member and manages the Oxford Innovation Society.
Previously, Lou worked at the University of Southampton as a Transformation Manager for the UKRI Trustworthy Autonomous Systems Hub. She managed the entire programme’s communications, marketing, and events both nationally and internationally, to raise the profile of the programme and nurture collaboration between the multiple HEIs and 200+ industry partners involved. Louise managed large conferences, multiple podcast series, the website, social media, strategy, content creation and publication, reporting, CRM development and management, and sat on the Operations Management Team and Research and Engagement Committee.
Before Southampton, Lou was a Marketing Officer in the Development Office at the University of Plymouth. Lou created and managed multiple campaigns simultaneously that centred on raising the profile of the rich research culture in Medical Sciences, and Engineering with a large fundraising element to fund research, PhD studentships, and to purchase essential equipment for the labs. She also co-managed the end-to-end creation- and implementation of- an engineering scholarship, working with students and industry to form mentorship opportunities for talented students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
