Brainomix Wins Award to Develop Life-saving Oxford Stroke Software

Brainomix, a start-up from Oxford University Innovation the Oxford University Technology Transfer Company, has been awarded over £900,000 to develop the software version of a stroke assessment system that has already saved lives. The software can be used by any hospital, helping physicians to identify patients more likely to benefit from life-saving treatment.

InhibOx Awarded Prestigious FP7 Grant

InhibOx, the computer-aided drug design company, has been awarded funding of €1 million by the European Commission’s 7th Framework Programme as part of a €4.1 million consortium project for the preclinical development of novel treatments for multi-drug resistant bacterial infections. InhibOx was spun out of Oxford University Innovation Ltd in 2001.

Oxford Biochronometrics, an Isis Start-up, Wins Prestigious International Competition

Oxford Biochronometrics (www.oxford-biochron.com) was created by former post-graduate researchers at the University of Oxford in order to commerciliase the Bio-Chronometric Signature, which is algorithmically derived from bio-chronometric markers that cannot be copied. These markers are created when a person interacts with almost any modern computing device that can accept human-initiated input.

Oxford Team Win China-UK Entrepreneurship Challenge

In the recently finished China-UK Entrepreneurship Competition 2013, the Oxford Team organised by Dr. Tiancun Xiao from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Oxford has won the top prize. The team developed a multi-vegetable based natural functional food which is effective for curing illness in the digestive system such as mouth ulcers, heart burn and constipation. The project attracted significant interest from venture capital and individual investors.

This week, an Oxford start-up released a new android app that connects small, independent businesses to their local customers. OXGEOS (Oxford Geo Social Technologies), coming out of Oxford University Innovation, the Technology Transfer Company of the University of Oxford, has released their app, called LovesVouchers, on the Google Play Store. LovesVouchers is free to download and for as little as £2.50 a small business can start attracting customers via discount vouchers.
