Measure the quality of patient recovery following surgery & anaesthesia with real-time feedback through the use of PostopQRS™

A new web-based digital e(COA) tool now available from the Clinical Outcomes team at Oxford University Innovation.
The Post-operative Quality of Recovery Scale (PostopQRS™) is a quick and easy-to-use web-based digital clinical outcomes assessment system (eCOA) that measures the quality of recovery of patients undergoing surgery and/or anaesthesia. It is CE Marked as a Class 1 Medical Device within the UK and Europe. The PostopQRS™ is used to assess 5 key domains of post-operative recovery (physiological, emotive, nociceptive, activities of daily living, cognitive and an additional self-assessment question) over multiple time periods, with the aim of objectively measuring patient recovery even after patient discharge PostopQRS™ has been developed to allow for seamless integration within routine care.

The PostopQRS™ comes with user support training and reference materials via the member’s portal with guidance on setting up a study, transcribing patient data, providing access to other study collaborators/clinicians and downloading data for your analysis in conventional statistical packages.
The current PostopQRS™ userbase comprises of more than 350 registered international users in a variety of applications spread across the healthcare sector, but includes:-
- Hospital clinicians and/or managers seeking to improve patient outcomes, optimise pathways, improve discharge data and help reduce readmissions.
- Health outcome registry managers who are seeking a standardised measure to gather evidence of local, regional, national, international surgical recovery outcomes.
- Trial mangers in (or eCOA service providers serving the needs of) the medical device and pharmaceutical sectors, who are seeking to objectively evaluate and compare interventions over time.
The current PostopQRS™ digital health tool is a development on the pioneering work from an Independent Scientific Advisory Board, whose research and development work was supported by educational grants from Baxter Healthcare Corporation and City, University of London. PostopQRS™ has been used by over 350 centres around the world and subject to over 30 publications in international medical and surgical journals.
