Through several of my previous roles I have been involved in the Oxford ecosystem, working in the fields of Bio-tech and healthcare. It’s been great to see the area continue developing as one of the hotspots for science, and part of this is the generation of technologies and companies from the University. One of the most exciting reasons for me joining OUI was to be involved in these technologies and working with the academics to ensure their ideas make the impact they deserve.
Another exciting part of my work is the range of conversations with world renown academics that I have the opportunity to work with. I initially joined as part of the Digital Health team and so mainly focus on projects in the space of software and medical devices, inheriting several long-standing projects around Diabetes. However, with experience in other areas including cell and gene therapy and protein development, I have recently taken on a portfolio in this area.
Previously to working with OUI, I spent almost 7 years working within the commercial team of a bio-technology company . This provided me with exposure to a wide variety of academics and companies within life sciences and allowed me to develop commercial skills which I am looking to implement in to strategies at OUI.
I also look to support OUI’s activities with Social ventures and have recently been involved in the ImpactU activities.
