A new company called TΔS (TDeltaS Ltd) has been spun-out of the University of Oxford based on findings made during research into human metabolism by Professor Kieran Clarke in the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics.
TDeltaS Ltd
At TDeltaS Professor Clarke and her colleagues Drs Michaela Scheuermann-Freestone and Andrew Murray have shown that cellular energy efficiency depends on the level of free fatty acids in the blood. This has implications for conditions ranging from muscle fatigue to heart disease, and they are now looking at ways of altering these free fatty acid levels. TDeltaS Ltd has been set up to manage the intellectual property relevant to the area of research and to find partners for further commercialisation.
