Isis spin-outs feature in ministerial visit

The Rt Hon Dr Vince Cable MP, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, visited Oxford University on 13 February to hear more about how world-class Oxford research gets translated into commercial applications with benefits for the economy, health and the environment.
During the visit he saw the next generation of photovoltaic cells being developed in the Clarendon Laboratory and commercialised through Oxford PV, spun-out by Isis in 2010. The founders of OrganOx Ltd presented the OrganOx® metra™, being developed to improve and prolong the preservation and transportation of livers before transplantation. Professor Alison Noble, Technikos Professor of Bioengineering and founder of Intelligent Ultrasound joined a wide-ranging panel discussion.
