Oxford University Innovation is to open a Japanese office in the Kyoto Research Park.

Isis offers consulting advice in open innovation, technology transfer training, technology searching and scouting, in- and out-licensing and other innovation management services through its Isis Enterprise division. It offers these services to clients from the public and private sectors, in the UK and internationally.

Mr Kenji Aiba, Isis Enterprise Associate Consultant, based in the Japan office, has been awarded an Honorary OBE for services to inward investment to the UK. Kenji joined the British Consulate-General, Osaka as an Inward Investment Officer in 1986, and was awarded an MBE in 1995 for his work in dealing with the aftermath of the Kobe earthquake and his dedicated service to British Government. Kenji retired from BCG at the end of July 2011. During his 25 years of work at the Consulate-General, Kenji brought over 100 investments into the UK.

Dr David Baghurst, head of Isis Enterprise said: “We would like to congratulate Kenji on his OBE, and his work with Isis and our Japanese clients. Isis Enterprise works to encourage the flow of new technologies from technology providers to companies and investors looking to create new business divisions and ground-breaking products.”

The official opening will be held on the morning of Friday 23 March from 10:30 at the Kyoto Research Park hosted by Dr Baghurst, and a mini-seminar will be held in Osaka in that afternoon from 15:00 with Dr Baghurst giving a presentation on ISIS services.
