Isis Spin-out NaturalMotion’s New App Showcased at Apple’s iPhone 5 Event

Torsten Reil, CEO of Oxford- and San-Francisco-based NaturalMotion showcased the company’s new Clumsy Ninja game app at Apple’s iPhone 5 launch event.

The company explained that “Clumsy Ninja is based on many years of research at NaturalMotion and Oxford University. It’s using technology that not long ago would have required a supercomputer – now running in the palm of your hand, on the new iPod touch.”

NaturalMotion has been working with Oxford University on the artificial intelligence driving the character, which not only reacts to how you behave, but is “fully aware of his environment” and can learn.

The company was spun out by Oxford University Innovation in 2001.
