ISPOR 17th Annual European Congress

Isis outcomes

27th October 2014

Isis Outcomes will be presenting on two recent collaborative ePRO activities at this event in Amsterdam 8th – 12th November 2014. In association with Professor Crispin Jenkinson and colleagues at the University of Oxford, PharmaQuest Ltd and CRF Health, Isis Outcomes will explain where it has supported the development of ePRO versions of its portfolio of health outcomes instruments.

The first of our two posters presents some work on behalf of one of our clients, Bayer Pharma Ag, where Isis Outcomes collaborated with a number of associates (PharmaQuest Ltd and CRF Health) to deliver an electronic version of our Endometriosis Health Profile, the EHP. The EHP is the only condition-specific PRO designed from the patient’s perspective to assess health related quality of life in endometriosis. The poster presentation at ISPOR Amsterdam will focus on the 3 stages of the collaboration: namely development and review of the source English eEHP; the testing of the ePRO version; and finally adaptation of new and existing EHP translations for the ePRO format.
This poster presentation is titled The Endometriosis Health Profile (EHP) – A case study of successful ePRO collaboration and is part of the research poster presentation Session III, Tuesday, 11 November (08:45 – 13:30). The Authors of the poster will be available for discussion in the hour of 12:30 – 13:30 on Tuesday, 11th. The presentation code for this poster at ISPOR is PIH78

The second poster presents findings from a study conducted at the University of Oxford on the acceptability to respondents, and assessment of alternative response formats, of an electronic version of Isis Outcomes Parkinson’s Disease Questionnaire (the PDQ). The PDQ is the health related quality of life PRO measure in PD. In collaboration with researchers at Oxford, under the direction of Professor Crispin Jenkinson, this presentation will report on results of cognitive interviews with six people with Parkinson’s (PwP) in order to assess the acceptability and usability of an electronic version of the PDQ, or ePDQ. This was followed up by a further online study of the ePDQ with 129 PwP in order to test completion rates when the study subjects were assigned to one of two groups, where one group was required to provide a response to every item and the other group with the option to skip any item they did not wish to answer.
This poster presentation titled An electronic version of the PDQ-39: acceptability to respondents and assessment of alternative response format is part of research poster presentation Session IV, Tuesday 11th November (15.30 – 19.30). Dr David Churchman of Isis Outcomes will be available for discussion at the poster from 18.30 till 19.30. The presentation code for this poster at ISPOR is PRM164
