Record Number of Attendees at Investors Event

Over 70 people attended the Isis Angels Network event on 4th October, at which four exciting new ventures were introduced.

The Isis Angels Network holds regular Investment Presentation events at which established and prospective companies from Oxford seeking early stage investment showcase their propositions.

Recent events have been growing in popularity, and have proved extremely valuable as a springboard for new companies. Oxtex, launched in August, was partly funded by investors who attended a previous IAN event, demonstrating the effectiveness of this format.

Keynote speaker Diego Braguglia, General Partner at VI Partners in Zurïch, highlighted the different requirements and expectations of VCs and typical start-ups from academia, and gave valuable insights into how to make all stages of the commercialisation process work.

Presentations followed from TheySay (sentiment analysis), OxEMA (3D imaging), XLBio (targeted drug delivery) and Clean Water (low cost, lightweight, portable water purification). All four are seeking investment for the next stage of their company development.
