Oxford University Innovation is recognised as a key player in supporting technology business in the region, in a new report published today by James Cowper and Peters Elworthy & Moore.

The Report comments on the benefits local business receives from proximity to a world class research university.  This is cited as one of the key features in building successful technology business clusaters.

Technology Survey

The ‘Oxford vs Cambridge’ technology survey picks out the contribution made by Isis through its academic consulting division Oxford University Consulting.  OUC provides opportunities for businesses to access the expertise of Oxford’s academic researchers.  OUC provides consulting solutions for the regions start-up SME’s and its multi-nationals.

Isis Managing Director, Tom Hockaday and Steve Lee, Head of Oxford University Consulting are quoted in the technology survey:

“We are very pleased to see that Oxford’s local technology companies are getting benefit from proximity to one of the world’s great research universities. One of Isis’ main activities is helping to create new technology spin-out companies based upon the University’s world class research (62 in 10 years). We also engage with local technology businesses, including our own spin-outs, in all sorts of ways: providing specialist expertise via Oxford University Consulting (over 100 assignments a year); supporting local business networking through the Oxford University Innovation Society and Isis Angels Network; and licensing technologies and selling materials from the University’s research outputs.”

The Report also focuses on some of the regions business networks.  Isis manages the Oxford University Innovation Society and Isis Angels Network which provide great opportunities for connecting people involved in technology innovation in the region.  We are pleased to say that JamesCowper are members of the Oxford University Innovation Society and active supporters of the Isis Angels Network.
