Oxford Catalysts spun-out from the University of Oxford by Oxford University Innovation Ltd in 2006, has announced a further funding round to progress from operating as a research and development company to a commercial product company.

The company designs and develops technology for the smaller scale production of clean synthetic fuels from conventional fossil fuels and renewable sources such as biowaste. After more than 15 years of development the Directors believe that Oxford Catalysts is now on the cusp of commercialising its technology, with the critical mass and positioning to become a technology leader in the fast emerging market for small scale synthetic fuels production.

Tom Hockaday, Managing Director of Oxford University Innovation Ltd, the University’s technology transfer company said “Oxford Catalysts, which emerged from the University with patented technology to generate clean energy, now has solid evidence of the commercial value of its technology. We were delighted to participate in the creation of the company, which now progresses to the next stage of its commercial development.”
