Dr Carolyn Porter

Carolyn obtained a first class honours degree in Pharmacology from University College Dublin in 1991. She subsequently obtained a PhD in Immunology from Trinity College Dublin investigating the role of Protein Kinase C in T cell function. Following her PhD she held a post doctoral position in the Department of Biochemistry at Oxford University in the fields of cell signalling and Immunology. In 1998 Carolyn joined Ernst & Young as Life Sciences Knowledge Manager and went on to become a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Group where she assisted Companies with fund raising, acquisitions and Company sales. She joined Chiron Vaccines in 2003 as a Business Development Director focusing on vaccines in 3 areas, meningitis, paediatric and travel. Carolyn’s most recent industry position was Head of Search and Evaluation for Europe region in Novartis Vaccines Business Development team. Carolyn has an MBA from Warwick Business School and joined Oxford University Innovation as a Technology Transfer Team Leader in March 2009.
